I'm a steel worker Local 6500 on strike month 5.

My Employer " INCO " was sold to a "Vale" mining. We made Billions in profiits last 2 years for them. Now they want the pension plan, profit sharing cost of living watered down or removed.
The Politicians said they would be of net bennifit to Canada. Doesn't look like it too me
Even in therse times "Vale Inco" is profitable. But why make money now if you can provoke a strike and make a lot more later.

Most adults I know have 2 jobs, are not on Fulltime schedule, do not get time and a half for weekend hours, no health benefits since they are dual Part-timers, a machine genreates their work schedule or they suffer reduced hours, and the retirement plans are stock based.


We are losing. And yeah, healthcare premiums take 16% of whatever you are left clinging to with your stressed out, overhassled, loveless existence.
