Building new pedestrian connections over this depressed segment of I-277 (John Belk Freeway) would help connect Uptown with the Historic South End. Signature structures would span John Belk Freeway, inviting motorists to park their cars and explore Uptown on foot. This proposal was developed in 2008, gratis, by HNTB Corporation. Gregory K.
