Part 5. The final installment of the combined rail / river tour in Brisbane in May 1999. We continue the trip up the Brisbane river to the Story Bridge passing landmarks such as the former Wool stores, CSR sugar refinery, the former powerhouse that provided the electricity for the tram system, and the site of the Evans Deakin shipyard at Kangaroo point (now residential / accommodation high-rise). Many changes have taken place since this film was made.
Please consider making a donation to the Qld Maritime Museum to help return the "Forceful" to operating condition. Steam ships are expensive to maintain and it will be very sad if this grand vessel has to be scrapped due to lack of funds.

  • Hey man, all your uploads are awesome, I have a fairly stupid question though....How are these engines designed to stop and start, I mean as the crank is directly connected to the propellor, just thinking as most other applications of motors that I know of have a clutch or similar device?

  • excellent series of videos buddy.
