I heard the message isn't good to read, because it is so far from the original meaning... I work at a christian book store and my boss said that he didn't like it because, "It makes my Savior sound like a whinny teenager." lol... Idk I dont read it, but that's what I heard.

the frequent ambiguity of the King James Version I think is a valuable asset, it does not try to over interpret

Funny, I think the NIV and many (not all) of the more recent translations are manipulated heavily, they seem more intent on PREACHING (and thus giving theological interpretation) than on simply translating.

I have a numerous amount of bibles and I have read King James (which I DO NOT like because it is manipulated heavily), The New International, and the Message and I love both the NIV and The Message. Its hard to know unless you speak the languages that the Bible was originally written in. From what I have read of The Message, it WAS taken from the original languages and put into a modern language. I like it but I still read other versions. I find the "new age" thing to be rumor

You don't need the message to understand the Bible.
Use maybe the New Living Translation.That's an easier one to read. And once you get used to it you could dig deeper with a Geneva Bible, KJV, or NKJV. The Message is not a real translation, it's a paraphrase with new age influence. Do some research.

U must not know how Hard it to first become a christian and not be able to fully understand and get out as much from the bible! I thank God for the message bible, i like it and i believe its still the same word of God with power and annoiting just in an easier version!!!

I never said anything about Rebecca myself but all you have to do is do a tiny bit of research online and you will see that "The Message" has new age terms in it and it is on purpose.
She could be unaware of this so I am not blaming her. She didn't "translate" it.

This is why people dont believe christians any more... What new age stuff? I need a prove about that, it's a very intence declaration you are making.
Rebecca is a good chistian, but some people like to look for bad stuff beacuse of their mean hearts who look for the worst.
