Deleted scene from Francis Ford Coppola's epic war movie 'Apocalypse Now'. It is only avaliable on the commercially unreleased 289 minute workprint of the film. In the scene, Captain Willard is imprisoned in a bamboo cage and subjected to mind torture at the hands of Colonel Kurtz's natives.
I am currently writing a novelisation of said workprint and will release it episodically for free at:

The part at the end with Lance getting to think in terms of what's the point? and joining in the Dionysiac should definitely have been included- very interesting.

They should have used this scene in the threatrical release of the film. It would have added more scary ambience to the film.

I alway wondered what Lance was doing during all the scenes at Kurtz's temple. Exept from the ones where he arrives there and when he leaves. I didn't see why they only captured Willard and just let Lance walk around everywhere. Only to for some reason join in the torture of Willard. He was probably still so high from MJ and acid that he didn't know what the hell was going on, so he just rolled with it.
