  • I've programmed. Using timbre of the Minimoog as a starting point.

  • If you want the classic Moog sound and can't afford the high prices of real-analog Moogs, the virtual-analog ION is the one to get. The big rubber knobs are easy to grab and twist, and you have features the Moog doesn't have like Oscillator Sync, Ring Modulation, an extra Modulation Wheel, and of course 8-note polyphony instead of 1 on the Moog.

Only downside is that the control panel is completely flat (not tilted like most synths), so if you have it on an upper tier, it needs to be tilted.

  • Was that a factory patch or one you programed into the ION?

If a factory sound, what patch was that?

  • Yes they sound very similar. The Ion is way under valued and I suspect that in 10 years they will be selling for 800 to 1000 bucks.

  • BTW, that buzz on the Ion could have come from the amp. Swap the cables around and see if the Moog buzzes the same way.

  • Holy frack! It's exactly the same. And you can get the same sound out of a Micron. Hell's bells, who needs a Minimoog? Not me, said the cow.

  • .while the minimoog is of course monophonic, the ion has 8 note polyphony..

so you can stack the same 3vco minimoog patch duplicated on the ion with 4 of them slightly detuned for MONSTER phatness impossible on the mini..and duophonic to boot! Or stack 2 ion patches and still have 4 note polyphony..i.e. 6vcos all detuned!..The ion continues to leave a mini behind with its 3 true adsr envelopes per voice TWO modulation wheels, a seperate lfo for each voice, a s/h for each voice

    on mini no lfo!

  • Man thats a bad ass little machine for the price ! i mean it emulates a friggin moog for cryin out loud ! and it does a good job at it !

  • nice

  • @Patrickillian

Isso nem está aqui em questão... Mas o iON não faz má figura. lol
