Song: Soundarya Lahari - stanza 66 - sweet words
rAgam: Ananda bhairavi
composer: Adi Shankaracharya

Meaning
(Saraswati is the Goddess of music. You are even more sweet-sounding than Saraswati's veena)

(Addressed to the Mother ambAL)

O mother (ambAL),
When the Goddess Saraswati
sings to you praising our Lord Pashupati,
and when you nod your head approvingly,
complimenting her with sweet words,
then Saraswati mutes her own sweet veena
with a cloth,
so that her veena strings are not put to
shame by Your sweet voice.

Lyrics
VipanchyA gAyanti vividham apadhAnam Pasupathea
Thvay'arabdhe vakthum chalita-sirasa sadhuvachane;
Tadhiyair madhuryair apalapitha-tantri-kala-ravam
Nijaam vinam vani nichulayati cholena nibhrutham.

  • When is this being telecasted ?? Thanks for sharing

  • Most weekday mornings between 530am and 6am IST, Neyveli does a small 5-minute "subprogram" called "Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa". This 5-minute subprogram is embedded inside a longer morning program.
