On Sunday 5th July at around 7pm on the Centre Court of the All England Club, Wimbledon, Roger Federer became the greatest champion tennis has ever known.

Watched by a legion of former champions as he beat Andy Roddick in a five-set thriller to claim his sixth Wimbledon crown and a record 15th Grand Slam title, one phrase summed this moment of history up perfectly Love Fifteen.




The following day Rogers achievement was on the front of every newspaper around the world, in every news bulletin and he was being talked about by bloggers across the internet.

That same day Roger gave an hour of his time to open up in a revealing interview with Manchester United and England centre-back Rio Ferdinand at a location just minutes away from the venue where hed confirmed his position as the greatest tennis player of all time.




Ferdinand, who had cut short his vacation for the interview, recently launched a highly successful online magazine with interviews with superstars of the sporting and entertainment world, but was visibility excited to meet a man who he confirmed as his sporting hero.

To be asked to interview Roger, well, it was unbelievable. Ive said it before, I think he is the greatest sportsmen playing today. He proved that on Sunday and to get the chance to speak to him was phenomenal. I couldnt believe how down to earth Roger was. You think that because someone is held in such high-esteem that they may be a little aloof with people from the outside world, but he was so relaxed and welcoming that I think it made for a great interview.

The pair discussed living in the media spotlight, fatherhood, football, Rogers Grand Slam outfits and, of course, Rogers achievements in tennis and his hopes for the US Open, Olympics and his life outside sport.
