Intense Basketball Roughness

Have we learned nothing from Intense Soccer Roughness and its follow-up? It is also interesting to note that both incidents involved teams playing conference games in the western region of the country.

After Jordan Barncastle (Texas Tech) hooked Brittney Griner (Baylor) and wasn't called for the foul, Griner punched Barncastle in the face.

The game was stopped for about 10 minutes as officials reviewed tape. A technical foul was called on Griner and she was ejected for a flagrant foul and another technical was called on another Baylor player, Morgan Medlock.

The Texas Tech bench also got a technical for going out onto the court after the punch was thrown.

The Lady Raiders went on a run to get as close as 5 points behind Baylor, but the Lady Bears held on, winning 69-60.
