The theme to this song is from Alexander Borodin's, "Polovtsian Dances"

My dear old dad had this at his funeral left me absolutely ruined.

In my "baby book", my mother wrote that at 5 yrs old, Stranger In Pardise was my favorite song. Yep, it's still a favorite, and just as beautiful as I remember it.

My dad used to sing this to me as we walked to and from the shop when I was little :) Always makes me think of those days.

Is this song also from Kismet??

Unfortunately, once he passes on, an American era will pass away as well... Don't worry Mr.Bennett. We have Mr. Micheal Buble to spread you and along with many other great singers' legacy onward for generations to come..

Yes, this is a great song, a fantastic combination of Alexander Borodin's, "Polovtsian Dances" and the second part optimally tailored and put into the context of something simple beautiful. I think that I heard the Tony's version in 1986, when I was a musician in a night club at the Adriatic coast and after that played it in Belgrade (Serbia) in 1996. Somehow I started playing and singing the same song few months ago... thanks to Borodin and Tony, but also other great singers singing this song

@esauerkraut :) A great melody is like a bridge to another world.. I better way of seeing things.. A way of going beyond to a place of greater understanding, a greater feeling for beauty..Some people might call this heaven, but thats up to each person. Music goes beyond the pysical world.. :)
Absolutely wonderfully beautiful! Thank you so much. Love this song and Mr. Bennett.

I sometimes feel that music like this is more than simply words and voice/instrumentation modulation. Could I be experiencing a glimpse of Heaven? It's hard for me to explain, but there are songs (like this one) that affect me in a way that goes beyond "enjoying the music"...that goosebumpy feeling of being carried away feels, to me, like it is beyond worldy ...anyway, yeah, good song.
