The Tyche, a 51-foot sailboat with two people on board ran aground just south of Lighthouse Point near Pompano Beach, Florida, on October 23, 2008. No injuries were reported. Arrangements were being made with a marine towing company to remove the vessel from the area, the Coast Guard said. "Tyche" was the Greek goddess of luck and fortune. The Tyche hails from Kralendijk, Bonaire, in the Dutch Antilles.
what a pretty boat --- too bad the owners shouldn't own a vessel like this -by the way the owners arent scandinavian the usa boaters. they have not use the boat since it beached .

How does one salvage a boat like this? Do you drag it back out into the ocean or do you drag it up on the beach and truck it away...?

I lived in Tampabay on a sailboat and I saw beached sailboats but they were invaribly small, I am a little surprized at the larger higher end ones that run ashore on the East Coast.

Let's go ashore for lunch. I'll launch the dingy. Naa, don't bother. ... sandy beach = inconvenience .... rocky shore = disaster
