I think their story transcends sexuality. I came across this documentary randomly and enjoyed it immensely. If you have ever loved anyone, you will be brought to tears during this movie.

Just finished "The Diaries of Chirstopher Isherwood," 1939-1960... I don't think I've ever read a better 900 pages in my life (no hyperbole)... I agree that intellectuality has no orientation... I am straight and cannot admire these more... really, you must read the diaries to know these two love each other so very much...

Just watched the documentary and I thought it was lovely.

I saw it on Sundance yesterday. It was a wonderful film. It is certain to become a classic.

Isherwood was the best discovery of my teenage life. I owe part of who I am to his writing.

Oh my goodness; is that Stephen Spender at 0:22 ?
I probably won't be able to see this film within the next couple of years - so please satisfy my curiousity.

God I love Chris Isherwood!!! I am sorry I never met the man, and now I find myself totally enthralled by this man! I will forever feel I have lost a true kindred spirit. Now I am doing my best to understand a man I never met. I wish you the best Don and thank you for sharing your story.
I brought me out of a full blown depression!
THANK YOU CHRIS AND DON!!!
Isherwood was a great hero of the straight community as well as all communities. Intellectuality has no orientation.

In fact, he was a great writer for any sexual orientation readers. I am heterosexual and "A single man" is one of my favorite novels. Cheers.
