2012 GOP Presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty has come right out and said that, in his opinion, doctors who perform abortions should be sent to prison. In better news, Indiana's attempt at defunding Planned Parenthood has been slapped down by the feds, so women in Indiana will no longer have to worry about being deprived of cancer screenings and other women's health services by anti-abortion crusaders. Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio joins Rachel to discuss the Republican obsession with abortion. From the June 2nd, 2011 edition of The Rachel Maddow Show.
When are you people going to WAKE UP?? The RepBullKrapiCon$ represent the RICH not you! They are NOT going to get rid of abortion as you have run to the polls for the past 38 years everytime they say abortion and vote RepBullKrapiCon. Bush had ALL 4 branches of Gov President, Supreme Court, Senate & House and we still have abortion

@MinisterAilingTongue Define "convenience."

The most rational position on abortion follows from ethics. Minimizing death and suffering should be the goal of abortion. Abortions of convenience go against nature. Women not facing life threatening complications to their pregnancies have the option of jettisoning the infant along an adoption trajectory rather than a refuse pile. Civilization is built on law and reason. Every individual woman determining the value of human life debases our traditions of giving every (born) citizen justice.
