This video is mainly to test out my hardware setup. The audio is a bit muffled but you can hear most of it anyway. You know, trying to shoot video and talk at the same time is kinda hard.

  • This look cool. I like ur idea of the teacups. They are just the right size. I got some grown lithops at the swap meet and they got drenched by the rain one day and rotted. =(

I did grow like 8 by seed but I only have one left. I might try you idea but now I need to get that drill bit.

  • @Fea80 Luckily we don't get much rain where I live. But when it does, and it's cold, I bring mine in now because the same thing happened to me. =F

Also, you don't necessarily have to drill holes in the tea cups if they're shallow enough and you don't over-water.

  • Not to blast my own site, but you should check it out, I am a fan of Adromischus, and Euphobia obesa is one of my favorite plants, I had one since I was 10 and I'm 31! world wide web(dot) mysteriesofnature (dot) net keep posting! -Joseph

  • @metalcscarab Hey your site is great. In your oddballs section, what is the flat one near the bottom? The Larryleachia picta looks cool. I want one! How much did yours cost?

  • Good job! I love going to the Japanese dollar store for pots as well. But be forwarned, the ones with smooth heavy glaze on the inside does not let water dry out as fast as an unglazed clay pot, so keep your mix light, or water less often and check the moisture content with a thin BBQ bamboo skewer. If the soil sticks dont water. The bulb thing, is actually Euphorbia obesa, and the top is the plant body. It should recover the loss of the roots, just leave it alone for two weeks before watering.

  • @metalcscarab Yeah, I wasn't too sure about how fast the mix would dry in some of them but I took a chance anyway because I couldn't find a good enough reason not to. Luckily, I do have a light mix and it's been good so far. That bamboo skewer is a good idea. I was using my finger for a while. Hahaha.

And yeah, I was happy to find that a month later, my E. obesa took root.

  • I hate figuring out how much to water them... I wish there were instructions like, water 1 tsp every week or something. Hmmm... I did stop by the Home Depot and picked up a drill bit. maybe i'll return it... idk...

  • The detached roots will slowly grow back if u leave out watering for months.... :)
