@TamTamster - starlings are currently roosting at Ham Wall nature reserve (if you don't know where it is, google it). Starlings do move around a bit, roosting in different reed beds, but the trick is to try & go several days in a row, going back to where they roosted the night before. You need to be there at least 1/2 hour before sunset. Also if you can manage, get down there in the morning - take-off is amazing. After start-mid march they'll all disappear until mid november. Hope this helps!

This was filmed at the Glastonbury end of Ham Wall. On 17th February, which is about the best time usually. Though this year (2011) , it was January.
