Well, now that yamaha tells us what the gear ratios are, plus what the rev limiter is set to, we can calculate the per-gear speed instead of having to get on the rev limiter.

the r1 from 1998 in first gear is 125 km/h .(almost 11500 rpm)
the 2004 model in first gear 150 km/h ( almost 14000 rpm)
