The mechanics are fairly simple. A musical keyboard has keys that complete a circuit. A computer keyboard has keys that complete a circuit. With patience, the two can be merged by connecting the keys.
It would have taken longer to fake a video than to build the real thing. I built it.
When I uploaded the video, processing did something wonky with the video/sound offset, and made the video jerky in parts.
You choose what to believe.
