If Red 1 has the ball who threw the ball in? #2? Every press break includes a middle man back and two wings to reverse the ball. Why wasn't Red 4 in the middle of the floor when red #1 had it initially? You don't take into consideration someone breaking to the middle of the court? That is principle #1 when it comes to breaking any zone. There are a ton of very false assumptions that only a poorly coached team would occur in.
If they put a guy in the middle, you pinch it with 3 or 4, whichever player doesn't have an offensive player on there side!!! If the ball is inbounded to a guard, you can still pinch middle with opposite forward! When they start the dribble up sideline, opposite guard in front would just sprint middle and cut in front of middle player! I have gotten plenty of steals with this press, no matter what press breaker my opponent has run! I always tell my player who is all the way back to stay in line
just saying, if 1,2,3,4,5 are on court when the trap starts, who inbounds the ball? cus 5 won't be down the on offense, he will be in suport in preference behind the ball:') this is a good trap though
@jimmyk127 No one traps it in the middle of the floor - the objective is to keep the ball out of the middle. If it does get to the middle the press is off.

You don't trap it - you get your butt back into your half court man defense

this guy doesn't know what he is talking about... u wouldn't trap in the middle you would deny the ball there. the middle kills the zone

the ball is not suppose to get to the middle of the press. Though if it does your press is broken or about to be.
