Personnel: Joe Porcaro - drums, Emil Richards - vibes, David Garfield - piano, Tom Scott - alto & tenor sax, Walt Fowler - trumpet, Denny Dias - guitar, Chuck Domanico - bass. Produced and arranged by David Garfield. This song was the first tune that Jeff Porcaro learned to play. Denny Dias formerly played with Steely Dan. He is dubbed "Dr. BeBop". Denny played the great guitar solo on Steely Dan's "Bodhisattva" and "Your Gold Teeth II", among others. Jeff Porcaro played drums with Steely Dan, particularly on the "Katy Lied" album.

  • Thanks for the info, as their was no cred's on the original vinyl I assumed that Larry Carlton did that most amazing solo on Gold teeth 2 but should of known that was Denny. IMHO Denny Is most responsible for giving Dan their great sound. OH BTW this piece is great too, And so was Jeff Porcaro. Great musicians never rest in piece, As they are continually evoked in mind and spirit.

  • Wow! that is a cool groove. Love the guitar solo Denny! The drummer is so cool and relaxed he has a great ride rhythm going and an awesome sounding ride cymbal. I want it. LOL!

  • I was just listening to that sitar solo by Dias in Do It Again. Just amazing work. Denny Dias is one of my favorite guitarists.

  • Excellent! Love it!

  • Nice to hear Denny Dias, the great guitarist on Steely Dan's Bodhisattva. He does a nice solo on this track. Thanks for posting this. We all certainly miss Jeff Porcaro, too.

  • Great stuff!
