That red light at the top of the alarm indicates power going to the detector via the battery.

Hey thanks for responding! It is a pretty cool alarm isn't it. I am hoping to start a collection of smoke/carbon monoxide alarms. This one is is still in use in my apartment. I am still getting used to posting videos so I was worried about how this video would turn out.
