  • You are right about the IR and UV being outside of the visible spectrum. That said, the UV light you show should not be shining at all. The fluorescent lights that we see in offices and workshops are the long wave version and illuminate the white powder inside the tube. Short wave UV, (UV-A + UV-B) are also invisible, but should have a special filter to block out the visible light but not the UV rays. What you are using is not true UV light.

  • Some of the LEDs spectrum is in the visible range and some in the UV-A range. The color camera has a UV filter so it (and my eyes) see very little light. The B&W camera has no UV filter and sees it much brighter. It is a 395nm UV LED, there are UV LEDs of higher frequencies.

  • Hey Mate, can you help me with an ultra Violet camera attament if there is such a thing ? I am going to England next July and would like to video tape and take pictures in the low ultra violet spectrum to see if I can pick up any UFO activity :)

  • Any black and white camera without IR or UV filter will work. Color cameras usually have IR/UV filters and don't work well.
