What is a PET scan? Alan D. Waxman, M.D., Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, describes how positron emission tomography (PET) scans work and why they can be critical tools for patients with many common diseases, such as cancer.
brilliantly explained.......I just had a PET scan and I'm waiting for the results to see if my Hodgkins Lymphoma got zapped......now I understand the process a lot more thanks to this video.......cheers
This is an excellent introductory explanation for the PET scan and its applications, overview of how it functions, etc. But I'm almost positive that Alzheimer's disease can only be 100% correctly confirmed upon autopsy, a point which I didn't think was clearly made in this video. Thank you, though - an excellent overview.
