@aliwhitwell gotta remember. After Earl everyone was playing 3 finger style and trying to break out of the mold of earl scruggs. Carl was one of the best IMO to do that.. carl is simply trying to be different. However i agree..WAY TO FAST...but then again, no one can play it like earl
I know Carl when he lived in Mississippi with his parents and was still a teenager. He was really nice then and we played different styles but had a good time at his home. Just saw him with Emmy Lou and remembered about those times.
I am from 12 miles west of NYC, I love this stuff. My fiancee however is from Carl Jackson's home state of Mississippi and she programs the XM radio so that the Bluegrss station doesn't even show up. Sad to me to somehow not appreciate this gendre that is full of talents on slide and like Mr. Jackson on banjo. Thanks for this gem!
