What about people who write "could of" instead of "could've" ? "Should of" instead of "should've"? "Might of" instead of "might've"? Hmm. If I can't beat 'em, maybe I'd better join' em?

What's happening to the King's English? A misuse that kind of annoys me is a confusion of "there", "they're" and "their." It is particularly disturbing to see this mixup come from people who are university educated.

I don't like the "txt" speak myself and the way I see it; the dictionary is constantly changing due to ignorance and technology, and people can't be bothered anyway, and lots of people on the net are not always English speaking, nor can the minority (growing) read or write very well, if at all.

This contraction confusion seems to both people much more than other confusing synonyms in the english language. I have seem many others videos on the same subject. Your a good example of you're species. lol. cool vyd.

@OriMeissa Possibly. What irritates me about English education in the high school years, at least here in Australia, is that there's so much emphasis on literary criticism. I mean, I can see the indirect merit in that, but I mean, I really like grammar for example, but we never did it.

@Mozza314 I guess not. It's just irritating when people write in "txt" mode even when there is no 160 character limit imposed!

Considering so many people are leaving our school system with the highest average grades across the board it's amazing how prevalent this mistake is. But to suggest western education standards are falling would be subversive wouldn't it......? :)
