Composed by David Thomas Roberts in 1979. I play only the first three parts. The last part, which is to be played with "unrestrained fervor," hurts my arthritic hands with its forceful 3- and 4-note octave-chords. Too bad, it's rich. Listen to Bryan Wright's great performance of the complete piece at

David Thomas Roberts is a central figure in the so-called Terre Verde musical genre, which combines elements of ragtime with Latin themes such as "Habanera" (tango). See http://www.ragtime.nu/terraverde/index.html

  • Clever and valuable performance for each note to be played... may be as good as the original by DTR, I feel ;-)

  • @RagtimePassion

Thank you for these kind (and undeserved) words. I have listened to some of your repertoire on YT with great pleasure, Your arrangements are spectacular - I didn't realize ragtime music could be adapted so well to guitar, and played so excellent.y. Keep it up, friend, you are an amazing musician.

  • You played that with great feeling and delicacy. Your style is very soothing.Do you think Is it possible for me to get the sheet music in England? It's a beautiful piece, beautifully played!

  • @43Meyrick1

You can order the sheet music from viridianaproductions - you want Folio 1

sorry, unable to post a link here

  • Wow. You are truly great, ive just picket up this piano thing.

And if i could play atleast half as good as you id be really glad. Got any good tips and ideas how to learn to play the piano better?

  • Well, thank you for the kind words, but... ...the truly great one is David Thomas Roberts, composer. I first heard this piece when DTR played it at the 2007 West Coast Ragtime Festival; I found it very moving.
