Trains and trams clattering over the crossovers in Riversdale Road in Camberwell ( Melbourne ). The trams have signals and catch points to prevent collision with trains. The signal box is manned and the change from 1500v to 600v is done manually. Sections of the overhead can be isolated to prevent the trams from getting an unwanted 1500v jolt. There are four of these crossings in Melbourne.

  • Nice vid. My high school (1980s) is only a few hundred meters away from this crossing. Cheers.

  • Excellent!!!

  • Very interesting! We do have some tram-railway crossings in Augsburg but the railway isn't electrified. It would be a little more difficult because the railways in Germany use 15000 V AC!

  • That is one cool rail crossing. Thumbs up for the video !

  • Nice trains and a very cool location. Thumbs up! :)

    An amazing crossing well filmed.
