'The New VR' came about in 1992 when Moses Z's City bought up all the small town affiliates once belonging to CBC and CTV.

This is so cool. I miss CKVR. Had to endure "The New VR" and even worse, "The A-Hole Channel"

Any time I see them I shout out "We are - THE NEW VR!" and they say something like "not anymore."

I believe that either Rogers or Corus will buy the CBC/Radio-Canada from the Canadian government within the next 5 years! That's right, CBC will be privatized!

The CRTC says it can only own two types of affiliates in the same market, this means Rogers can own two OMNI stations (OMNI 1 and OMNI 2) in Toronto and Citytv Toronto.
