People have been allowed to view bears here for years.. how on earth could they be allowed to hunt them. Talk about breaking trust.

I'm fron Belgium. Here in Europe no one has been able to protect wildlife. Having 8 bears in France in such a big deal for european ... You simply do not realize how lucky you are to live in such a wonderful place. You should think protection, education, eco toursim but mass hunting especially in that precise place is nonsense. Shame on you. And I'm not against hunting but that precise spot is simply unacceptable ...

Humans hunting bears is just as natural as a lion killing a gazel. Its not wrong to hunt or to kill an animal for recreation. This video is nothing more than political hype.

LIONS DO NOT USE GUNS ...
but there is no use in trying to convince a hunter to respect nature and special spots such as Mc Neil. What do you know about politics anyway ?

That doesn't change the fact that I hunt bears.

I am going hunting in Alaska this fall, but I would not hunt here. If the bear just walks up to you there is no point.

The McNeil River bears are not aggressive because of the abundance of food in the river. Take the fish away and all those nice little humans become dinner right now. Reading these posts seems many of you were duped by that idot Tredwell who got himself and another person killed through his ignorant acts. 8 bears in a 6400 square mile national forest area. Like the bears are going to go extinct. Get facts, not a bunch of emotional hype to take your money from you.

Hunters are the biggest conservation group in the world. Giving out 8 licenses isnt going to destroy the population, but make it a more sustainable number. The money they spend on the licenses in large part goes to pay for conservation efforts. Their population is in decline because their numbers are too great for one location.
