Fear in the Night (1947) is a low budget black and white film noir directed by Maxwell Shane and starring Paul Kelly and DeForest Kelley (in his film debut). It is based on the Cornell Woolrich story "And So to Death" (retitled '"Nightmare" in 1943). Woolrich is credited under pen name William Irish. The film was remade by the same director in 1956 with the title Nightmare this time starring Edward G. Robinson playing the cop and Kevin McCarthy.

Yes, it was Bones, I saw that too! Wow, DeForrest Kelly had a great film career, 129 movies!

Wasn't that "Bones" from Star Trek? Mediocre plot and acting. The two maincharacters' emotion (also the storyline) didn't gradually evolve, but abruptly went from one emotion to the other. How quickly he believed his brother-in-law was a murderer and then not believe, just because he was suicidal. Didn't really care for this. Much prefer "He Walked by Night." Thanks for taking the time to upload, though.

This was a great movie! It's a pity they don't make movies like this anymore. I would have never guessed that he was hypnotized to kill the one guy and the wife. In movies now, you can guess what's going to happen and it's no fun.
