That's right, Judge. Even some guy who wears makeup to dress like comic book characters can see that you fail.
The only abuse in this case was abuse of power.

Now yes, I DO know there is a difference between a pop on the butt and serious harm. I've gone through both, and even as a child, I knew when I deserved a pop on the mouth to smarting off at my mom, and I knew when I DIDN'T deserve to be thrown by my neck for being in the wrong place when my father was in just the wrong mood. I am in NO way condoning child abuse.

ANY discipline, taking to an extreme, can be abuse. There's spanking, and then there's beating. There's time-out, then there's locking a kid away with no food or water, or means of using the restroom. There's verbal discipline, then there is hateful screaming. Physical abuse is not the only abuse, but I feel this judge is too ignorant to see the difference between normal discipline and excessive force.
