In this video I show how to calibrate an MFOS oscillator in which I have used a hand matched pair of 2N3904 NPN transistors. I tried to get this down to one ten minute video but I just couldn't. It is now a two part series. This is part I. I am able to achieve 8 octaves of range. If you have not read the article on Practical Transistor Matching on MFOS at http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/analogsynth/TRANSISTORMATCHER/TRANSISTORMA... you might enjoy it.

  • The callibrator is a life saver Ray , used it on my 6 mfos vco's , the big blue Scottish modular is totally in tune now.

    thanks again Ray.

    Dave.

  • @sinewaveDave2010 You're totally welcome. It makes it a little easier anyway.

  • Thanks for this, I'm about to start building a MFOS VCO. Is the circuit for that voltage reference box up on your site yet?

  • Visit MFOS and look down the right column of the home page and you'll find the transistor matcher and the oscillator calibrator.

  • Thanks. I tried to shorten the whole thing but still keep the important parts. This one has less rambling and is more accurate.
