@50Noreen The same reason Cherry Jones wasn't chosen to play the lead in the movie "Doubt". Sure she won the Tony for the play, but Meryl Streep was needed to sell tickets at the box office.

My heart breaks a bit when she starts seeing the Camelot theme song. I used to often watch Richard Harris in Camelot when I was younger. Now the extremely talented Richard Harris is gone. He was extraordinary. And as I think about how Julie Andrews can't sing much anymore, it is surreal to me how we lose these amazing people and their talents with time. Richard Harris, darling Audrey Hepburn...and to one day lose Julie Andrews will be a hugely sad loss. But what a gift to have had them at all!

Never understood why she didn't play the lead in the movie "My Fair Lady". Typical Hollywood politics. They would rather go with a movie "star" instead of the original lead. No offense to Audrey Hepburn but she had no voice and it was dubbed. Stupidity!! Just wished I could have seen Julie on stage but I was too oung to go to the theatre on my own.
