The sound is really odd. Is it mike placement, or that the singer is leaning against a partition? Very strange. Better to do this in a recording studio than in a photo studio.

*Fangasm* for both Schubert and Bostridge!
-
this is the best interpretation of this song I've ever heard!

Very good. Thank You for uploading these. M

Gosh, he's good.
-
it would be cool if i knew what he was singing, otherwise then that.
amazing :)

this is so much more interesting because of bostridge's perfectly matching youth.
other, like old dieskau or quasthoff, are wonderful as well, but in another way.

Agree with @TheJbach - Bostridge has a divine voice, Julius Drake is a fine accompanier. Heard them both play/sing the Winterreise last week at the Schubertiade in Schwarzenberg - standing ovation stuff! Not that you could see the joy from Mr. Bostridge afterwards, he looked pretty drained....:(

@jd7x7jd Yes! Agree!! That is certainly true!
-
@TheJbach and because he has one of the finest accompanists in the history of the art
Hauntingly beautiful performance

This really worked out wonderfully, strictly and solely because of his (Bostridge's) intensity, mastery, and precision of feeling.... it is just so exemplary a portrayal of the angst of our protagonist, the Schubert we know and all come to identify with at some point in life, eventually. Super!
