  • Flexing your abs, doesnt hurt ur baby?

  • Lol...no, it sure doesn't. You flex your abs every time you move, stand up, laugh, or basically do anything physical. What I was doing is called the 'drawing in' maneuver and it involves drawing the belly button in towards your spine to stabilize your trunk, most especially the low back. Letting these muscles relax for prolonged periods of time causes low back pain, tight hip flexors, weak glutes, and compression of the spine. As long as you're not squeezing hard there's no harm to baby.

  • So, when flexing the abs, it helps your lower back only when pregnant? Even when sitting down, should we be doing this to help the back pain?

  • No, what I told you applies to both pregnancy and non-pregnancy. Yes, during normal times you should try to keep the core muscles engaged at all times. During pregnancy you should relax a little but continue to use your core to support both you and your growing baby.

  • You cannot control those growing hips! That baby needs room to come through :)

Cute belly!! That inner looks like it will stay in for a long while.

Glad to see a youtube pregnancy vlog using a midwife :D

Congratulations!! You look awesome. What an amazing time in your life.

  • Thank you! As far as room for baby to come through my midwife tells me I have LOTS of room in all directions and baby will move through with no problems. I'm very happy about that and will take the bigger hips any day.
