Jeeez, pathetic. The EVA is n-2 technology. And this ease of use garbage is old news. Who cares how easy it is to create a LUN when you don't even know what a LUN is. Tell me this, how can I migrate data from FC to ATA drives without bringing the host down? How do I add iSCSI ports? How can I do a data-in-place upgrade from and EVA4100 to and EVA4400? How can I create a thin LUN? What's the performance impact of expanding my pool or LUN?

With the proper training and experience, I am sure they can, but the UC 420S class from HP is not an entry level class and requires a strong back ground in server administration, and a basic understanding of Fibre channel.

I disagree. Did they properly configure the fibre channel switch ? Did they configure the disk groups properly? Can they do a SAN controller upgrade? Any one can follow a procedure written by an expert, but can they isolate and troubleshoot a path that is down, or a MPIO issue?

If highschool can do it - with no storage experience besides a short class to get them up to speed on test terminonogy - then it is clear that you do not have to be a storage expert to use an EVA. Yet, you get all of the features and capabilities that is needed to take care of your business.
