Personally I'm disapointed, the death of the redeemed villain is a cliched way of getting rid of possible lose ends.
as for sirrus, I had hoped you could decide his fate. prison again would have been my choice. not his death.

I personally believe people should be given a chance for redemption. Whether or not they take it is up to them.
Also, death is a permanent solution that is sometimes necessary. Sirrus was already imprisoned once and he learned nothing from it. Clearly he isn't willing to reform. In his case it is best to do what must be done so that he can no longer harm other people. Not a happy choice, but a not all stories can have happy endings.
