Voice at 0:05. Alert at 2:33. Attack at 4:10.

At the same time I recorded the 3016 in Shellsburg, I also left a digital audio recorder about three miles west of town to record system ambiance. This is that recording.

The map shows a small section of the DAEC siren system (I made the map myself in Microsoft Streets & Trips). The orange X is where the recorder was. Red dots are 3016s. Green dots are 2016s. Blue dots are 4004s.

Although the test ends at 5:21 after one minute of attack, if you keep listening, you can hear a lone distant siren continue sounding in attack for the full three-minute cycle, rather than aborting when the test ended. You gotta turn the volume up all the way to hear it, but if you listen close, you can hear it at 6:23, again at 7:10, and then you can just BARELY hear it finally wind down at 7:35.
