In the century ahead, there will be wars fought from space, between nations that are friendly with each other today. Populations will decline and industrialized nations will compete for immigrant labor. Poland, Turkey, Mexico and Japan will emerge as great powers. These are just some of the startling predictions made by George Friedman, founder and chief executive officer of Stratfor, an Austin, Texas-based global intelligence company. In his new book, The Next 100 Years, published by Doubleday, Friedman provides a look at how he believes the world will change over the course of this century. VOA's Greg Flakus has this report from Austin.

@7tube7 I terms of economic power Mexico is gaining grownd, it has grown at a steady pase, the problems is wealth equality, Mexico will pass economic reform in the coming years to adress the this problem. also Mexico has realized that it is to attached to the unites states economy there for they have started to pass economic treaties with europe and asian countries. The problem in the usa is china, they are the threat. When Mexico comes out of this dark age it will be good for both countries

Its impossible to imagine that any country would surpass the US? Lese if EU becomes a real nation its practically stronger then USA.

one day Mexico will surpass the USA. The Mexican people need only to wake from the dark long dream of Ignorance and uneducation. But it will occur one day, all Mexico needs is a leader like Hugo Chavez who really cares about his people and is wiling to work for the good of the country.
