This tiller starting having problems last year when we were working in our garden. I finally decided to take it apart to see what was wrong with it. I suspected the gears were slipping... sure enough, they were.

  • Thanks for posting the video, mine (Western International brand exact same unit)has the same issue. Try Murray p/n 56159MA, about $75. The worm gear shaft is p/n 306790MA, about $18. Not sure if I will fix it or not, been a real good machine; we used it every year to plown several Gardens.

How did you get the tines loose from the shaft, mine are stuck tight.

  • @Warneygoogle I think I found some parts that would have fit, but the problem was that I only paid $60 used for the whole tiller. I ended up selling it on craigslist. Someone who had a broken motor but good gears could have used it.

  • I have this same tiller, but mine is a Dynamark. I had the same problem, but the gear in mine grinned down all the way around so i just ordered a new gear from amazon and it was worth it.

  • We have owned this Tiller so long it is like an old friend; just couldn't bear to throw it out. Amazon has the part for $65 and free shipping.
