You are amazing Bonnie!

so you just steam fruit you want into the container..add sugar or not, use the airlock or glove with hole (love that idea) and let it set for a few months..longer the better I guess. Could you then bottle it to use it from smaller containers? We had some amazing grapes this year and we just ate them or gave them away. They will be wine next year for sure! Thanks!

You go Bonnie! You are a woman of many talents.

I think that apple "wine" is called cider. Honey "wine" is mead and grain "wine" is beer. It is good that you let it ferment for a long time. If you bottle it too soon, before the fermentation is done your bottles could explode, which would be bad.

@acefreon I call it cider when I use a raw juicer and it has pulp. My wines usually have some grape and apple mix so I just refer to it as wine. I'm not super into it but I like doing a little wine each year.

@Mrssoappeddler Wine is so easy to make. It's idiot proof! All you need is juice and yeast, one packet will do for up to 5 gallons. Then an airlock so expanding air can get out and not in. Then you wait a few months, or longer for better wine. It's really that easy. You can use any fruit juice at all. You can use a regular juicer or a steam juicer. You can add sugar or not.

The first time I made wine I used a sun tea pitcher and stretched a latex glove over the top and poked a tiny pin hole in the middle finger. Viola! Homemade airlock! That year was concord grapes. After 6 months it was awesome wine. Didn't add any sugar that time.

@aobabinski I cannot play any musical instruments and it's not for lack of trying! =] I can't read sheet music... I mean, I can read and understand it but all the lines make me dizzy. I can play a song on guitar or piano if I memorize it. So, there, something I just can't do! I get migraines so the lines play tricks on my mind.
