I KNOW IT RATTLES AND IS ANNOYING AS HELL, but I wanted to show how well my first attempt at making an in-car camera tripod video. All those rattles are from the thing mounted very closely to the passenger head restraint, I'll have to dampen those next time around.

  • 0:30 - 0:37 You just used the safest steering technique. I always use it but I'm not sure why you did it then, you always use the hand over hand technique. LOL. Maybe you just wanted something different for a few seconds?

  • @04smallmj I also used it because I knew you'd see this video and leave a comment for me to reply to like I'm doing right now LOL, ...I usually call it the "granny's lazy" steering technique haha

  • Haha what are you mumbling to yourself as you back out of the garage?

  • @irw08 LOL it was either Rod Stewart or Natalie Merchant stuck in my head

  • Can you do an update on the Jetta?

  • @thecarexpert18 I'll try to do one soon

  • The police use it (or are supposed to) and it's the safest technique for a number of reasons, the main one being that your hands are never crossing or covering the airbag. And that it is smoother. And I hate the character limit on here! I could write a 500 word essay on this subject!

  • @mercmilan06 Lazy? I think otherwise LOL. We learn it for our driving test here but I reckon about 95% of people go back to the hand over hand technique after they pass, probably due to laziness. I still use it because I can't get myself to use the other technique LOL. I did it on the first driving lesson and it felt awkward and unnatural. I use the palming technique where I need a lot of steering fast but I don't use it above 20 MPH. oh, and the official name for it is pull-push steering.

  • @MasterSnowstorm if only you could have seen how i actually got it in the car, it's just a regular tripod and i had the passenger seat reclined, i used the seatbelt, it was rather elaborate LOL

  • I could really use on of those, instead of a mini-tripod
