Hey Ross, this is Dom. The recording itself isn't the highest quality, but I can list a couple things that may help. First off, the pitch accuracy and intonation were superb. Try to think landing on top of the note instead of coming from underneath and add even more dynamic play to this (after all, the song originates from a romantic culture). The biggest piece of advice is that your overall sound is not "laser like" yet creating muddiness on your runs. Long tone exercises are a good solution.

The only thing I would say would be to 'take your time' a little more. Your accompanist is just pushing you too fast. The cadenzas are great - but you pinched off your high notes a little.

Wow haha.
I never actually got to meet you but I've heard stories about how good you were from Wellie and Alex haha - I was a freshman in '09. That piece was fantastic! I just became trumpet section leader in the Marching Band at Urbana this year and I showed this to the trumpets today and they were wowed.
Anyways, nice piece haha
