This video addresses some of the frequently asked questions in relation to the Federal Minimum Wage Decision to be delivered by Fair Work Australia in June. Given any increase to minimum wages will become effective on the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2011, it is important that employers understand the implications of the decision and are ready to implement the changes across their business.

  • @ChicaWolverina I'm not sure what you mean. "No." is Australian and UK abbreviation for "Number" -- I don't know why, it's some tradition that was taught to us in school. I think the German "Nr." makes much more sense -- even in English.

    As a Comment, I was just trying to abbreviate.

    Thanks for your comment.

  • Did they even once mention what it was per hour, if they were addressing it to wide audience it would men nothing but and insult as it not meaningful? It's $7.25 USD and it's over $17.00 AUD which is over twice what it is in the USA and the Aussie buck is significantly higher now over the USD.

  • @carlosantuckwell I don't like the way you write that with "No.". Couldn't you just write "The number of people living on less than..." Or per capita or percent etc?

  • Just kill the government...now!!!! fuck!

  • Of course minimum wage has to be increased. The official "Average Wage" is disinformation. Truthful statistics would show:

    No. of people living on less than $20,000;

    No. of people living on $21,000-$30,000;

    No. of people living on $31,000-$40,000;

    etc.

    I've never personally known anyone who earns anywhere near this mythical "Average Wage".

    The Govt. has obviously told the Bureau of Statistics not to make this info available. I couldn't find it. It would show inequality in Oz.
