  • It makes me sick that people scorn the poor in this country!!!!

  • And the Ignorant yuppies in this Country send all their 'charity' to Haiti & Africa. It must make them "feeeeel good" to help poor oppressed minorities.

Forget the poor people in THIS Country! It makes me sick to see this.

  • This is sad. I'm from somewhere close to this area (can't say what state or part) but I'm very fortunate that I do not go through this. I live near a metro area and times are just as tough. I know people who actually go through the same thing and its sad. It's a very personal story. I feel guitly for having money. I now want to take my purse, clothes and shoes that I spend lots of money on and donate to these people.

  • @littleweloosmom agreed

  • @tonlo92 Also, the drugs that are the biggest problem here are prescription medications which are dispensed by doctors and probably cost little if anything out of pocket if the person has a medical card. (Which this couple probably do since they are walking eight miles each way for a mandated GED class.) So the drugs she is on may not even be costing anything. It is a sad situation.

  • @littleweloosmom You're right. If you watch the documentary The Wild & Wonderful Whites From West Virginia it depicts a poor town much like this one. The younger kids see the adults & their siblings living this way & they follow the same path. It's a cycle. Down here in South Florida we have the same problems in the rougher neighborhoods. It's not just an Appalachian thing. All cultures/races have these same issues. It's just that in these towns their resources are limited.

  • @MondoBeno Because a two liter of Pepsi costs more than food for 12 people, right?

  • Yeah, because drugs are only cool when rich people do them! Ugh. Learn some WV history and see how this state's leaders failed generation after generation by selling our resources to absentee owners and getting no revenue back to the people who live here. Bone-crushing poverty and unemployment go hand in hand with depression and drug addiction.

  • @tonlo92 Or perhaps they are attracted to the escapism of drugs because there are no jobs there, and the pervasive poverty and unemployment is the perfect landscape for breeding addiction and despair.

  • These people need to get off drugs & television and be like the Amish....

  • @lovethosedocs America's most hated .

  • America has spent trillions for weapon of poor people DESTRUCTION .
