Video of a Droid vs a G1 in a quick game loading test. As you can see in the video, the game loads about 3 times as fast on the Droid as it does on the G1. The game also runs smoother on the Droid at about 45FPS as opposed to about 35FPS on the G1.

I don't work for either company. I write video games and just want to show people how sick this new phone is.

The game is called Light Racer 3D and is shown on both phones.

  • Why would you put a first generation Android device up against a current device? That's like putting an original IBM 8088 PC against a brand new computer today.

Let's see you put the Verizon Droid up against the T-Mobile G2X and see who wins.

  • @thecyberati It's not exactly the same gap as an 8088 vs i7 (a 30 year tech span). The Droid was the second generation phone and is already much slower than the current top devices. This comparison was quite relevant when there were only a dozen devices on the market and the Droid had just arrived. People were asking me how much faster than a G1 it was, and this video was the answer.

  • I waited till after he says" droid is starting" to try and start it on my droid x and it still finished first. Not that its surprising. Just impressive how phones evolve.
