www.thegoddesswithinmovie.com "Breath focus," and "silent watching of your thoughts," are two of the most commonly discussed forms of meditation. While easy to learn, the techniques can be challenging to master. Here are some tips to guide you.

  • Can you explain what you mean by "circular" motion at 2:35-36?

  • Absolutely. You want the flow of your breath to be continuous from inhale to exhale to inhale, with as little space as possible in between. Many people find it helpful to visualize the air moving in a "circular motion," since a circle has no beginning, end, or stopping points. That's what you are trying to achieve with your breath. That said, don't try too hard! Just be natural and the flow will come with practice. :) Thanks for the great question!

  • Thanks for the tips. My friend gives me crap all the time for looking around for new techniques, while he's been meditating for 20 years and of course it comes easy for him. Thanks for helping out us average beginner mediators. :)

  • thanks much! you're pretty!

  • By the way, hopefully you understand what I'm talking about.

  • Thanks for your response.

The reason why I asked you is b/c when I am meditating or doing deep-breathing, whether it be in my yoga class or wherever, I like to sense my stomach moving in a circular or "rolling" motion (whether that be vertical or horizontal) when I am inhaling and exhaling. I don't like to feel any "jerky" in-and-out motion; just a smooth, continuous flow, and I feel that noticing my stomach rolling in a circular motion helps me to do that.
