Practice, Practice, Practice in ALL weather conditions, dry, wet, hot, cold, sunny, cloudy, misty, foggy, and everything in between...You cant pick the day you need your gun or the weather, practice indoors and outdoors, with and without glasses, ect...the list goes on and on, prepare for any position you might encounter to better your chances of living through it

you should get used to shooting without hearing protection. if something does happen i doubt your going to have any just a suggestion or if you use and i pod a lot while at work or elsewhere shot with your headphones in

@cutlerylover no i shoot a lot shotguns and pistols when my brother and i went to a concealed carry class they told us it would be smart to practice shooting without hearing protection not all the just sometimes there example if someone breaks into your house how are you going to have time to grab ear protection and put it in before whoever it was harms you or your family

@Codekidd it stupid to practice without hearing protection and whoever told you that should not work with guns...I have done it before out of laziness, theres no way of "getting use to it" its just as loud the 1st time you hear it as the 100th so why chance losing your hearing permanently? in a real defense situation no one will have hearing protection on and it will be loud but the adrenaline will take over it wont bother you you may lose hearing for that moment but it wont effect what you do

@cutlerylover why not have hearing protection in sd espesially home defense with those electronic earmuffs i mean i keep a pair next to my gun that way if i have time boom i am fine

i have even talked to guys who ccw silencers so they wouldnt be def when the cops show up

@cutlerylover I fully agree with you. I shot without hearing protection once by necessity. That was over 20 yrs ago. I still have this annoying ringing in my right ear. I will keep it for the rest of my life. Those "instructors" that Codekidd went to need to find a new line of work.
