How much current did you use to weld that ? Nice brake!!

@ncrdisabled Thanks. I had the current set to "E" max and the wire speed to "4". I tested the welds on some similar scraps to make sure I had good penetration. This was my first real welding project and it came out pretty good if I say so myself.

@dan3nad most of HF stuff,needs a little adjustment,fitting,if your not good with stuff like that ,spend the extra,email companies to notify you when theirs a sale.

shit i got a 12 toon press from harbor freight tools & it sucks!!! i could easly fix it but if i do cut it up & rewield it i can return it....after i put this press 2 gether it was all crocked & uneven

..Nice job for home-made though...if you shop around, you can get these bottle jacks with air-over-oil for faster operation...

@ncrdisabled If you got an arc welder, use E6010 pipe welding rods. E6011 is almost the same thing, and you could get them at home depot. You would get almost full penetration and really fuse the metal together. With DC rig and 1/8" rod, use 105 amps on the thinner stuff, and 115 on the thicker parts.

@ifocusfilms we made a roll bender for doing just what you are talking about. Using 120 wall tubing as the mandrels you can adjust pretty much anything you need since the tubing stacks in sizing. just a long bolt, then stack your tubing to make whatever radius you want, couple of arms and another bolt for the "pusher" add a giant handle and away you go. You can bend ANYTHING!

Awesome job man ! This is exactly what I've been wanting to make, however I was going to use round bar to avoid marks, but I more after radius bend not 90°.  Curious if you were to bend 6061 would that leave a indentation on the metal ?

Any chance you can give us dimensions on that jig/die ?
