A Family of electrical and industrial pioneers of the 19th and 20th century. E.W. Rice Jr. helped create the first arc light systems and found General Electric, C.W. Rice created the audio speaker, and Martin Rice developed the first corporate PR campaign. This is a family of innovation that was instrumental in the creation of many important technologies and shaped the industrial revolution. Their lives include the creation of Thomson-Houston Company, foundation of the GE Research Lab, early AC electricity work, the creation of RCA in 1919, sonar work, growth of unionized labor, radio technology, birth of NBC, first talk films and more.
