*Sam's P.O.V.*
"You ready?" Mindy asked me. It was well into the party and it was time for me to play.
I took a deep gulp. "...ya."
I knew this would happen. Major stage fright kicking in almost to the point where I couldn't feel my hands.
Sasha came over, obviously sensing my nervousness. "You'll do great Sam. Just don't worry about it. Remember, you've gotta stay strong and be brave to prove your point to them." She said gesturing towards Mindy and Joe. "Blow them away." She said smiling and gave me a little push towards the stool sitting in the middle of the room.

Sasha was right, I had to conquer my fear and prove to them that they can't break me. Before I began playing, my eyes travelled over to Sasha and Nick who were looking right at me. Nick had his arms around Sasha... oh how I envied her. I longed to feel so protected and cared for. While I thought this, my eyes wandered over to Joe and Mindy. Joe had his arm wrapped around Mindy's waist while they joked and laughed about who knows what. They were both centred in a group of popular people not once even taking a glance over at me. I was more determined now than ever. I took a deep breath and began to play.

*Joe's P.O.V.*
I had my arm wrapped around Mindy's waist, laughing with a bunch of people that I didn't even know. All the while I was wondering whether it was really worth it to be a part of all this just to get Sam's attention. All I could think about was her... wondering where she is, does she ever notice me?, is she thinking about me too? I started looking around the room wondering where she was. As I broke away from my thoughts the voice I had heard the other day came floating back into my head. Only this time the voice wasn't in my head, it was right here in this room. I slowly to around to finally see who this girl was. I was completely shocked when I saw Sam singing and playing the guitar. She was the girl? That seemed almost impossible... Sam had never said anything about playing music before. I let go of Mindy's waist and gazed at Sam as she sang the words, listening carefully to every single one.
